Chipping Campden sits in the northern tip of Gloucestershire, with Worcestershire to the west, Warwickshire to the north and Oxfordshire to the east. The town and much of the outlying area is within the designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty known as the Cotswolds.
The local limestone creates the golden look of the architecture of all periods, whether new or aged and weathered. The gentle rolling hills provide some of the prettiest countryside in the country with many of the small villages nestling into folds in the hills.
The town itself is situated off a through road and visitors need to hunt it out as one doesn't happen across Chipping Campden. A relatively small population is exceptionally well served with many facilities that serve the community and the visitor alike. There are still butchers, bakers and greengrocers on Campden High Street, along with many other quality shops, a library and a selection of hotels, restaurants and pubs. In addition, the well regarded schools provide a swimming pool and sports centre for the town to complement the active football, cricket and bowls clubs. Many clubs and societies have active memberships for a whole selection of interests.
Outlying villages vary in size from the tiny hamlet of only a few houses up to those that are as big as towns and offer similar facilities. In deciding where to live, many base their decision on the type of lifestyle they seek and whether convenience and facilities are a benefit to them.
